Olivet Seminary Releases New Courses
Olivet Seminary (OS) has recently created five new courses. In order to release theses courses by April, OS's editing team strived to work on them in the first quarter of this year. Each course aims for students to discover a fresh, compelling, and biblically rooted vision of Christianity. The new lectures cover threefold divisions of theology - Theology, Bible, and Ministry - in a balanced fashion.
With an emphasis on church planting and its growth, first of all, Dr. William Wagner explores missiological issues with his lectures: "How to Start a Church," and "How to Grow a Church." On the basis of 'Biblical Literacy,' furthermore, Dr. Tom Cowley examines biblical studies with his lectures: "A Biography of Jesus," "Remember the Heart of the Bible." Last but not least, "Bible-centered Worship" was lectured by Dr. Merrill Smoak, who had served a music director for more than three decades.
The format of each course is similar to Ted Talks, a showcase for speakers presenting great, well-formed ideas in under 18 minutes. The level of each lecture is midway between academic and local congregation so that anyone who seeks God and wants to know the Gospel can learn from it.
