Olivet Seminary Intl. Launches New Course: History of Christianity I & II
Olivet Seminary International has introduced a new course titled ‘History of Christianity I and II,’ taught by the distinguished church historian Dr. Donald Tinder. This course is part of the Theological & Historical Studies Requirement, aimed at enriching the curriculum and offering students exceptional educational opportunities in theological studies.
The course explores the history of Christianity up to the year 1700, emphasizing the Bible’s role as a historical document that shapes Christian theology and ethics. It also examines how historical events have influenced contemporary doctrines and practices.
Each session includes lectures, discussions, and assigned readings. Students have access to additional resources, including 155 issues of Christian History magazine, available online, which feature articles, timelines, and historical documents.
Through engaging lectures, the course aims to deepen students’ connections with the Christian community across history, fostering an appreciation for the challenges and triumphs of earlier believers in their mission to spread the Gospel.
